Stingettes

The Stingettes are composed of the Dance Team and Majorettes in the Chelsea High School band with students ranging from 9th grade – 12th grade. Each year in the springtime, students in 8th grade – 11th grade attend a tryout clinic, try out, and the new squad is chosen. Soon after, the Stingettes begin practices and fundraisers. During July, the Stingettes attend choreography camp and band camp, learning the field show for the upcoming football and competition season. Often, the Stingette captains assist with developing choreography for the show. In August, the Stingettes begin performing at pep rallies and football games and this season lasts through, at least, the end of October. We usually attend two competitions with the band and the past two years the dance team has placed first in every competition and the majorettes have placed first once each year. At the Chelsea Christmas Parade the Stingettes march with the band in the parade and enjoy performing for the large crowd. High expectations are required for Stingette members and the Stingettes must follow the Shelby County Auxiliary Constitution as well as the Chelsea High School Stingette handbook. Being a Stingette is an honor and creates lasting friendships and memories!
